ASH BARTY

Former world no. 1 tennis player

“I fell in love with Rado timepieces when I was quite young and bought myself my first Centrix as a reward after winning a tournament. It felt elegant and precise, and I still love to wear it now. It brings back happy memories of all my hard work leading up to winning a tournament and being able to reward myself with something I’d always wanted. From there, our relationship has just grown.”

Ash Barty retired from tennis at the beginning of 2022 after winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon a few months earlier.

Now retired from professional tennis, the former world number 1 continues to represent the brand to fans and admirers around the world. Ash’s relationship with Rado has seen her collaborate in the development of Ash Barty specials.

Ash Barty

Former Australian professional tennis player Ash Barty became part of the Rado family in 2017 when she joined the Swiss watchmaker’s YoungStar programme. With Rado she shares a strong love of the game, unwavering determination and a passion for inventive and creative play.

Her partnership with Rado started at a very early stage of her career and goes beyond her active time on the tennis court. We are excited to accompany our brand ambassador Ash in the next chapter of her life. 'You are either winning or learning.' One of the greatest tennis players in the women’s game, Rado ambassador Ash Barty claimed the World No. 1 ranking when she was just 23.

Visual harmony

Centrix Automatic Diamonds

The former sharp edge has been replaced by a softer, rounded crystal that is bonded flush with the case, pleasing to both hand and eye. Anti-reflective coating has been applied to both faces of the glass. The treatment allows for a clear view of the dial — a stunning piece of watch-designer craft, with its radial, sunray texture, made level after stamping by a layer of lacquer which renders a perfectly smooth, flat surface.

True Square x Ash Barty Limited Edition

The 38 mm True Square Secret x Ash Barty was designed in collaboration with Ash Barty, the former world No. 1 women’s tennis player and Rado ambassador still to this day. This high-quality square watch with 80-hour power reserve is made with a polished light rose high-tech ceramic monobloc case. If you look closely, you will discover a small tennis ball on the white skeletonised mother-of-pearl dial. Ash’s signature is digitally printed on the sapphire crystal case back.

HyperChrome Ash Barty Limited Edition

Strictly limited to 996 numbered pieces (Ash was born in 1996), the new watch is a three-hand quartz model. A curved sapphire crystal, anti-reflective on both faces, offers a clear view of an enchanting blue mother-of-pearl dial with three jubilé diamonds at 12 o’clock, rhodium-coloured dauphine hands and applied indexes, a date window at 3 o’clock and a moving rhodium-coloured tennis ball centred in the lower half at 6 o’clock. Both the monobloc case and 3-row bracelet are fashioned in Rado’s signature polished plasma high-tech ceramic.

Supporting the next generation

Ash Barty Foundation

Ash Barty and Rado mark the launch of the Ash Barty Foundation with surprise donation with a generous donation of tennis equipment to Toowomba community. “Helping young people discover and pursue their own passions is something I feel very strongly about. I fell in love with tennis by chance.

With help from the Rado family, we have been able to provide the children of Toowoomba with the opportunity to discover a passion that they can take with them through their life.”
